Welcome to the memorial page for

Rosa Lee Jeffries

March 16, 1920 ~ July 28, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old

"O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Psalm 34: 8

Ms. Rosa Lee Jeffries, age 97, took flight to her new and Eternal home, Friday, July 28,2017,while a patient at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast, Concord, North Carolina. We, her family and friends, are blessed to have shared Aunt Rosa's life for so many years.

Born March 16,1920 in Badin, Stanly County, North Carolina, Rosa was the daughter of the late Marion and Viola Auston Jeffries. She was educated in the Stanly County public schools and was employed with Pfeiffer University (Sodexho Incorporated) Misenheimer, North Carolina with a career spanning over 45 years. She was consistently recognized for outstanding service and perfect attendance year after year. Her leadership on the catering staff was exemplary which impacted the entire operation. The Pfeiffer University Alumni Association presented Ms. Jeffries a lifetime honorary membership. She was self-trained, wise and her doctors were astonished as her cognitive level far exceeded most individuals at her age.

A life-long member of First Baptist Church, Badin, she served faithfully for many years on the Usher Board and church choir. She was recognized for her exceptional service to the usher ministry as well as her stewardship. Ms. Jeffries was also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars-Ivey Chapter #126, Albemarle, North Carolina. Many knew and enjoyed Ms. Jeffries for she was an excellent cook. Her famous macaroni-n-cheese dish was a comfort food that brought smiles to the faces of the young and the elderly. In addition, her pound cakes (sweet bread as she would say) should have been in the bakery throughout the community. Now, she is cooking in heaven...oh, what a feast it must be!

She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Corritha and Eleanora Jeffries; brothers: Roy and Marvin Jeffries; sister-in-law, Josephine Jeffries; and her lifetime partner, Joe M. Dukes.

Cherished memories are left to: sisters-in-law: Ophelia Sharpe, Badin, NC, Belzora Jeffries, Detroit, MI, and Lucy Jeffries, New Bern, NC; nephews: Kenneth (Constance) Jeffries, Greensboro, NC, Thomas Jeffries and Richard Jeffries; nieces: Michelle Jeffries, Detroit, MI and Linda Jeffries, Philadelphia, PA; great nieces: Nakisha Fleming (Michael) Davis, Winston-Salem, NC and Ciara Fullilove, Detroit, MI; great nephews: Matthew Jeffries and Caleb Jeffries, both of Greensboro, NC and Justin (Consuiela) Fullilove, Detroit, MI; a host of other relatives, dear friends and devoted neighbors.
