Barbara Steele Ford - a quiet, humble, and sweet spirit went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 9, 2016.  Our family and friends will miss her smile and the ray of sunshine she brought in the lives of those she met. We are blessed and we give thanks to The Almighty for allowing us the opportunity to share her life.

She was born May 30, 1941, in Montgomery County, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late William and Elmina Simon Steele.  Barbara received her formal education in the Montgomery County public schools; and was employed with the Albemarle Spinning Company, Albemarle, North Carolina before her retirement.  She was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Albemarle, North Carolina where she was involved in Missionary work and helping others.  In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and watching her favorite television series, Walker Texas Ranger.

She was married to Moses Ford for over thirty-four (34) years.

Her daughters and siblings: Robert Steele, Jeremiah Steele, Harvey Steele, Jeanne Reese and Linda Brown preceded her in death.

Loving memories and a legacy of devotion are left with her husband, Moses Ford, and a son, Billy Joe Steele, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; three (3) grandchildren: Mickie (Charles) Holmes, Dominique Steele and Wesley Steele; one (1) great grandchild, Brandon Holmes; a brother, William Lee (Sylvia) Steele, Troy, North Carolina; two (2) sisters: Nona (Robert) Little, High Point, North Carolina and Sarah (David) Tyson, Albemarle, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
