Paula Lilly

Our beloved Paula Lilly was called to Eternal rest on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, while a patient at the Carolinas Medical Center-East, Concord, North Carolina. Paula, one of seven daughters, was born to the late Benjamin and Juanita McLendon Lilly on March 27, 1956 in Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina.

Paula was educated in the Stanly County public schools and graduated from Albemarle Senior High School-Class of 1975.She was employed for many years with the Monarch Group Home, Albemarle. A true believer, Paula was a dedicated and faithful member of Colston Street Church of God, Albemarle. There she fellowshipped and enjoyed many spirited services with parishioners prior to her declining health.

She enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Paula was the ‘belle of the ball’, engaging, never boring and a great conversationalist who was always well informed about current events. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and watching her favorite sports.

Paula was a ‘ray of sunshine’ who was received into her Heavenly Home by her parents, Benjamin and Juanita and her sisters: Sylvia L. Scott and Ruby L. Crumpton.

Paula personified love of family, friends, and community. Her infectious smile, kind demeanor and willingness to help  others will forever be remembered by: a devoted and caring daughter, Quanita Lilly, New London, North Carolina; a loving son, Franklin Lilly, Albemarle, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Deshera Edwards, Anterrio Harris, Jr., Jamillya Owens and one great grandchild, Jaiden Hamilton; four treasured sisters: Joyce Ann Blackmon, Brenette Lilly, Phyllis Lilly and Theodora Lilly; an aunt, Pauline Lilly and two uncles: Paul Lilly and Philmore Lilly, all of Albemarle, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends.
