Patrick Charles Keith Snuggs

Patrick Charles Keith Snuggs, age 73, journey in this life ended, Tuesday, October 24, 2017.  “Pat” as he was affectionately called was the son of the late Doremus David “DD” and Aleane Ponds Snuggs.  He was born October 7, 1944 in Stanly County, North Carolina.

“Pat” was educated in the public schools of Stanly County and graduated from Kingville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and served his country honorably.  “Pat” furthered his education at North Carolina Central University, Durham; and received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Pfeiffer University, Misenheimer, North Carolina. He also graduated from Long Beach City College and Harbor College, Long Beach, California. While living in California “Pat” was employed as an EMT. He  was a former  manager with Food Lion, Incorporated and Sky City, Albemarle.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Phillip Morris International, Concord, North Carolina.

He was a life-long member of Union Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Albemarle, where he sung in the Senior Choir. He was an honorary member of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society; and former chairman of the Trustee Board. “Pat” enjoyed repairing things and was considered an excellent handyman. He was instrumental in organizing the South Albemarle Black Culture Program which sponsored programs and activities for the youth.  

In addition to his parents, a brother Doremus D. Snuggs, preceded “Pat” in death.

“Pat” is survived by his daughter, Chaundra Snuggs, Albemarle, North Carolina; sons: Maos (Tyreka) Baldwin, Albemarle, North Carolina and Roderick (Kwanza) Baldwin, Concord, North Carolina; brother, Victor Snuggs, Albemarle, North Carolina; sisters: Imogene Snuggs and Gail Swaringen, both of Albemarle, North Carolina and Ivey Cytrena Snuggs, Charlotte, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
