Maxine Rose (Brown) Watkins

December 18, 1958 ~ November 19, 2015 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Life’s journey began for Maxine Rose Brown Watkins on December 18, 1958 in Richmond, Virginia.  She was the daughter of the late Willie Mae Brown-Murph and her adoptive parents the late Ryland and Juanita Allen Trimiew.  On Thursday, November 19, 2015, our loved one and friend departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We are thankful for the time she spent with family and friends. With sincerity, our Lord moves in mysterious ways; His wonders to perform.

Maxine received her formal education from the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Richmond, Virginia. She furthered her studies to receive her Associates of Science degree majoring as a Pharmacy Technician.  While in Richmond, Virginia, Maxine was employed with CVS Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.  Confessing hope in Christ at an early age, and relocating to Albemarle, North Carolina, Maxine joined Spirt & Truth United Church of Worship where she attended faithfully until her health decline.  Maxine was last employed with Goody’s Department store as the store manager, Albemarle, North Carolina.

She will be remembered as a “Special Angel”.  As a former employee of McDonald’s, Albemarle, North Carolina, Maxine would always find a charitable way to assist with different organizations who concentrated on assisting those in need. Maxine will be remembered by many for initiating the amazing charity program entitled McAngel’s Program.  She enjoyed spoiling her family and friends with her cooking; reading various books; watching Scandal to see Olivia Pope’s next move. Shopping for shoes, earrings and purses were her favorite pastimes, which is why she was admired as being a “fashionista”. Although she never wanted to be in the spotlight, her work never went unnoticed as one who always was willing to lend a helping hand.

Maxine was the founding member of the Legacy of Misses, with her being named BEAUTIMISS.  This Legacy was founded to empower and support the women of her family.

She was preceded in death along with her parents, siblings Steve Allen and Jamal Wilson.

Maxine had a fun, witty and loving personality that never allowed her to meet a stranger.   Her memories will be forever cherished by: daughter, Destiny Brown, Albemarle, North Carolina; four sons: Brandon Brown and La Craig Brown, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; Frezell Lamont Brown and Bruce Brown, both of Petersburg, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren to include two devoted grandsons, Naki Tyson and Ayden Ridenhour; brothers: LaKeith Brown, Bruce Brown, Robert (Angie) Brown, Ryland Trimiew, Frezell Trimiew, Johnny Brunner, and Barry Brunner; sisters: Mary Trimiew, Ruth Dorman Currie, Shawanna (Maurice) Brunner-Braxton; devoted aunt, Ella (Leonard) Jones; a special niece and nephew , Tammy (Jerry) Thomas and Darryl Currie; devoted cousins: Terry Jones, Tracy (Aaron) Jones-Mills, Rena (Henry) Allen Moorman, and Ahwasta Skipper Thompson; very dear friend, Priscilla Jefferson; a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
