Mary Alice (Lindsey) Maske

June 8, 1922 ~ July 1, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years Old


Dear Heavenly Father, today we bow humbly in submission to thank you for blessing us with your daughter, Mary Alice Maske, born to the late Sarah Mitchell on June 8, 1922 in Stanly County, North Carolina. Friday, July 1, 2016, God in his infinite wisdom called Mary Alice to rest from her labours to receive her eternal reward. She departed this life at the Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Mary Alice received her formal education in the Badin, North Carolina schools. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her only child, Johnny. Mary Alice was an active and devoted member of First Baptist Church, Badin, North Carolina. She was faithful in her service as a primary Sunday School Teacher, member of the Senior Missionary Department, Adult Sunday School Class, Chairperson of the Floral Committee, a strong soprano on the Senior Choir and a committed Deaconess.

In 2007 Mary Alice moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be cared for by her family. There she joined St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday Morning Services regularly until her health declined.

She was a Past Daughter Ruler of the Improved Benevolent and Protective Order of the World referred to as the Daughter of Elks and Elementary Grade Mother for the Badin School.

Her hobbies included cooking, gardening and ministering to the needs of the people in the community.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall; her mother, Sarah Mitchell, and her sisters: Jennie Edwards and Flonnie James.

A life well lived, a legacy of love and fond memories will be treasured by her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Agnes Maske, Wake Forest, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Katrina (Stevie) Roseboro, Newton, North Carolina, Laron Maske, Leah (Kelvin) Neptune, Sr., and Kimberly Maske, all of Wake Forest, North Carolina; a God daughter, Joanne Kilgore, Badin, North Carolina; nine great grandchildren: Allison, Aliyah and Kelvin Neptune, Jr., Rikki (Cedric) Baldwin ,Latia and Darkishia Pemberton, Tyler McLendon, Nicholas and Syria Hill; four grandchildren  claimed by Johnny and Agnes: Charliebell Pemberton (Daniel) Christian, Albemarle, North Carolina, Willie McLendon, Burgaw, North Carolina, Debra McLendon, Badin, North Carolina and Nathaniel (Reshah) Hill, Wake Forest, North Carolina; four great great-grandchildren; two nieces: Veronica (Alfred) Finch, Hamilton, North Carolina and Winnefer Hall Chesholm, Cleveland, Ohio; a cherished dedicated friend, Sandra Watkins, Badin, North Carolina; a host of cousins and friends.
