Deacon Billy Mack Parker

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course and I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of Righteousness…..”     

On March 21, 2017, Deacon Billy Mack Parker departed this life to be with the Lord. 

Born in Union County, North Carolina, September 30, 1934, he was the son of the late Rev. June and Odessa Rushing Parker. In addition to his parents and wife, Lucille, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Earl Parker and Sonny Parker.    

Deacon Parker was educated in the Union County School System. His church affiliation was as a member of Fairview Church of God in the Burnsville Community, where he was a faithful Deacon until his health declined.  He also attended House of Shiloh in Albemarle, NC while being cared for by his son and daughter-in-law, J.V. and Evangelist Emma Broadway. 

He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Lucille Broadway Parker for 60 years. Deacon Parker was a devoted husband and loving father. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.  

Deacon Parker leaves cherished memories with a son, J.V. (Evangelist Emma) Broadway, Albemarle, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Marion (Walter) Rorie, Irish (Ricky) House, Jesse Broadway, Jamila Broadway, Jewell Broadway and Jaruis Broadway; three great-grandchildren: Jasmine (Glenn) Lefer, Jaydan Broadway and Jon-V Broadway; brother and sisters:  Walter (Shirley) Parker, Sara (John) Hubbard, Mary K. Parker, Mary (Alexander) Marsh, David (Geretha) Parker, Betty (Roy Lee) Rushing, James (Mabelle) Parker, Jesse (Shirley) Parker, and Jasper Parker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
