Archbishop James E. Bramhan, age 65, died at the residence of his daughter, Aeon and son-in-law, Kinkine on Sunday, January 1, 2017, Albemarle, North Carolina, surrounded by his loving family. We, his family and friends, give thanksgiving for the privilege of sharing a loving and blessed life for a Child of God.

He was born August 16, 1951 in Darlington County, South Carolina to the parentage of Ethel Franklin Bramhan and the late Richard Bramhan, Sr. His early education was received in the Darlington County Public Schools. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was later employed with Delta Airlines. He aspired and fulfilled his legacy as Archbishop at the Orthodox Christian Religious Community of St. Thomas, Emporia Virginia. There he was Active Clergy and Resident Clinical Psychologist. He was a member of the Order of St. Benedict and held doctorate degrees in: Philosophy, Theology, Divinity, and Psychology. He devoted much of his time to ministry and missionary work, but in his leisure, enjoyed the sport of martial arts, fishing, and spending time with family. He was well traveled and enjoyed his visits to Africa, where eh loved teaching the word, praying for the sick, and visiting the local hospitals.

His father, wives: Charlotte Bramhan and Peggy Bramhan, and a sister, Ethel Waddell preceded him in death.

Archbishop Bramhan is survived by his daughters: Aeon (Kinkine) Ewing and Jayeta Bramhan, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers: Richard (Barbara) Bramhan, Jr., Ypsilanti, Michigan and John Bramhan, Albemarle, North Carolina; five sisters: Rosalind Daley, Detroit, Michigan, Floris Dargan, Albemarle, North Carolina, Cathy (Randy) Minor, Shelby, North Carolina, Fran (Roosevelt) Goodson, Darlington, South Carolina and Alvenia (Irby) Wilson, Florence, South Carolina; a host of other relatives, parishioners and friends.
