Willie Jean Coble

Willie Gene Coble, age 84 gave up time for Eternity Thursday, November 7, 2019 while a patient at Atrium Health-Stanly, Albemarle, North Carolina. Born July 10, 1935 in Stanly County, North Carolina, Willie was the son of the late Excel and Robena Staton Coble. Words fail to express how deeply we will miss Willie, but we are grateful for the many years we were able to share his life.

He attended the Stanly County public schools and graduated from Kingville High School, Albemarle. Willie was employed with Consolidated Freight Company, Charlotte, North Carolina and retired after many years of dedicated service.

Willie was a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Oakboro, North Carolina. His favorite pastimes were detailing cars and fishing.

Those who preceded Willie in death, in addition to his parents, were: his wife, Lela Griffin Coble; daughter, Rhonda Griffin; son, David Coble; brothers: Ovester Coble, Frank Coble, Joe Coble, Benny Coble and Ricky Coble.

As we say good-bye to Willie, know that he will forever remain in the hearts of his son, Rex (Beverly) Coble, Oakboro; daughter, Jean C. (Robert) Jackson, Oakboro; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; brother, Reverend Jake N. Coble, Polkton, North Carolina; sister, Darlene C. Harris, Oakboro; aunt, Cora Staton, Oakboro; sisters-in-law: Betty Coble, Marshville, North Carolina, Linda Coble, Charlotte, and Mazel Broadway, Oakboro; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
