Vivian Lucille Stanback Pate was born March 28, 1932 and departed this earthly life on February 10, 2022 at Bethany Woods. Vivian was born in Forsyth County, North Carolina to Flossie Stanback and resided in High Point, during her early years.
She later moved to Manhatten, New York where she met the love of her life, Bobby Pate. They were married September 23, 1964, forty years before his death.
Vivian worked and retired from the Government in New York.
Chris, as she was fondly called by those who knew her well, and her husband moved back to North Carolina after retirement. She became very active in the community and was elected to the Albemarle City School Board in 1989 and served to 1996. The Stanly County School Board merged with Albemarle City School Board and she continued serving a until 2000. She was very dedicated to her position and the children and would visit various schools volunteering to tutor or read to the students. She was also the school crossing guard at East Albemarle Elementary School. She loved singing and playing the piano.
Vivian’s husband, Bobby, preceded her in death in 2004 and a Dear Friend, Desi Shine.
