The earthly life of Sonia T. Harris, came to a close unexpectedly Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at her residence in Albemarle, North Carolina. Born March 4, 1964, in Tarrytown, New York, she was the daughter of the late James and Doris Little Townsend. Sonia possessed a quiet demeanor, always gracious, kind, and greeted others with a smile. She will be sorely missed. We are thankful for the years we shared her life.
Sonia was educated in the public schools of Westchester County, New York and Stanly County, North Carolina. She graduated from Albemarle Senior High School, Albemarle. Sonia was a former employee with Saddle Creek Logistics, Harrisburg, North Carolina.
Her church affiliation was with Saints Delight Church, Albemarle. In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking a scrumptious meal. She was also an avid baseball fan who loved to watch the baseball games, especially the World Series. She also relished spending time with family, friends and enjoying the comfort of her home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Irish Ronae Davis.
Sonia will be remembered and remain in the hearts of her God son, Tyshia Harris; brothers: Eric Wayne Townsend, Albemarle; Michael Townsend, Durham, North Carolina and Andre Townsend, New York; sister, Rita T. Crews, Baltimore, Maryland; special friends: James “Buddy” Harris and Donna Wall; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
