Roosevelt “Chuck” Horne, age 83, was called from labor to reward, and entered Our Father’s Heavenly Home, Tuesday, October 6, 2020. “Chuck”, as he was affectionately known, was born in Stanly County, North Carolina on February 2, 1937. He was the son of the late Samuel and Hellen Moore Horne. “Chuck” was charismatic, well-spoken, and a great conversationalist. Gone from our presence, but never from the hearts of those who admired and loved him. He will be dearly missed.

Never idle, always involved, “Chuck” worked tirelessly and enthusiastically in his church and community. A believer, he served as associate pastor of Faith, Hope and Charity Church, Albemarle; and was a member of the church’s Welcome Committee.
He was former president of the Stanly County NAACP, Albemarle. He was an advocate for positive change that would benefit the greater good. In his leisure, he enjoyed reading the Bible, traveling, maintaining his automobiles, and listening to jazz. He loved people, attending church programs, and taking photos.
