Our beloved, Ricky Benjamin Gramling, was born March 5, 1960, in Stanly County, North Carolina; and was the son of the late Ernest Ben and Easter Wilson Gramling. Everyone loved Ricky’s great sense of humor, enthusiasm, and zeal for life. He always kept things lively and enjoyed seeing others full of laughter. On the evening of September 2, 2022, the music stopped, and the sun set on the life of Ricky. He didn’t tell us he was leaving, he closed his eyes and entered eternal rest. We didn’t get a chance to say goodbye, but we are comforted in knowing that Ricky has made it home, and that we will see him again in that ‘great gettin’ up morning’. We are blessed to have shared his life. He will be missed and his memory will forever live in our hearts.
Ricky attended the Stanly County public schools and was employed with K & W Cafeteria prior to his retirement.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, New London, North Carolina. Ricky loved cooking a scrumptious meal, watching a great basketball game, and manicuring his lawn. He also loved driving beautiful cars.
His parents and brothers: Eugene and Marvin Gramling preceded him in death.
Ricky leaves to celebrate and cherished his memory, siblings: Ella Carpenter, Katie (Ernest) Peoples, Eli (Mary) Gramling, Blondie Watkins, Andrew (Betty) Gramling, Mary (William) Barnes, Juanita Murchison and Selma White; special nephew, Marvin Stephens; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
