Pauline Jackson Obituary

In sweet peace, our beloved, Pauline Bruton Jackson, transitioned to eternal rest, Monday, January 16,2023, surrounded by her loving family. Pauline was born May 10, 1942, in Montgomery County, North Carolina; and was the daughter of the late Frazier and Margaret Christian Bruton. Pauline’s life was well-lived. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people. Pauline journeyed through life and left footprints of kindness, love, courage, and compassion. Her smile and laughter lit up a room. Her light will forever shine in our hearts.

She was educated in the Montgomery County public schools. After her high school graduation, she attended and received her Bachelor of Business Education degree from Barber-Scotia College, Concord, North Carolina. Her zeal for education led her to North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina where she received her Masters of Adult Education degree. Further studies in Basic Skills of Education were received from Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina. Pauline was a retired educator with Stanly Community College, Albemarle, North Carolina.

A woman of faith, Pauline was a believer.  She and her family were life-long, dedicated members of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Zion Church (Pee Dee Community), Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. Pauline loved playing the piano, singing in the church’s choir, and the fellowship of the members. She always stated that she loved the Lord, enjoyed working with the Missionary & Christian Ministries, and spending time with family and friends.

Gone from our home, Pauline’s memory will live forever in the hearts of her son,  Ira (Dagmar) Jackson; grandchildren: Jennifer Jackson, Adrianne Jackson, and Nicklas (Brittany) Jackson; great grandchildren: Jayvin Robinson, Jorrian Robinson, Mason Jackson, Canon Jackson, Dominick Jackson, and Liam Jackson; siblings: Frank (Mattie) Bruton, Judy Boggans, and Loretta Green; former husband, Gerald Jackson; special friend, Daisy Washington; a host of other relatives and friends.
