Memphis Johnson, age 79, gave up time for eternity, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while a patient at Atrium Health- Cabarrus, Concord, North Carolina. Born July 12, 1946, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Memphis was the son of Emory Sr. and Lillian Myers Johnson. Memphis had a quiet, easygoing demeanor. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will live forever in our thoughts. May he rest in God’s Unchanging Hands.
He attended the Stanly County Public Schools and was employed with K & W Building Supply Company, Charlotte, North Carolina for many years before retirement.
Memphis was a former member of Resurrection Community Church, Albemarle where he enjoyed many spirited church services. In his pastime, he loved fishing and collecting antiques.
Those who welcomed Memphis to his eternal home were his parents, wife, Barbara Johnson; brothers: Jasper Myers and Mitchum Johnson; and sisters: Mae Frances Moses and Fairdine White.
Fond and loving memories of Memphis will forever be cherished by his brothers: Emory Johnson Jr. and Nelrain (Jenny) Myers; sister, Linda Johnson; a host of other relatives and friends.
