Afterglow

Melvin Lewis Christian, age 63, gave up time for Eternity, Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his residence. Born February 12, 1956 in Stanly County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Haywood Daniel Christian and Margie Ree Davis Christian. Melvin was fun-loving, charismatic and always enjoyed a lively conversation with family and friends. His journey on earth is over, but his memory will remain in our hearts forever.
He was educated in the Stanly County public schools and was employed as an interior design specialist with Palm Harbor Homes for several years. Melvin served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Melvin was a former member of Cottonville A.M.E. Zion Church, Norwood, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Alice McFadden and Shirley Clark.
As we mourn his passing, Melvin’s family and friends will treasure his life and give thanks for the memories. Survivors are: his sons, Terence Leake, Sr., Mt. Gilead, North Carolina, Brandon Christian, Albemarle, North Carolina; daughter, Keena Collins, Asheboro, North Carolina; grandchildren: Na’Riya Collins, Terence Leake, Jr., and Titan Oliver; brother, Daniel (Charlie Belle) Christian, Albemarle, North Carolina; sisters: Phyllis Christian and Tangela Christian, both of Albemarle, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Edward Clark; special friend, Barbara Jo Leake; God-mother, Alice K. Davis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
