Mary Lou Lilly Walker, quietly left from her earthly life, February 4, 2021 to her new home in Glory. This was also the date of her 71st birthday. She passed at her residence in Albemarle, North Carolina.

“Aunt Nay”, as she was affectionately known, was born February 4, 1950 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Olden Sr. and Mary Lou Thomas Lilly. As we celebrate her life, all praises and thanks are uplifted to the Most High, as He was “Her Light and Salvation”.

She was educated in in the Montgomery County public schools, and graduated from Peabody High School, Troy, North Carolina. She was employed with Russell and Harvell Mill, before moving to Manhattan, New York. There she enrolled in the community college and received her business credentials. Upon graduation, she was employed as an administrative assistant for a local business. She also enrolled in the arts and crafts classes. This was found to be her true passion as she excelled in floral design and decorations.

Years later, she returned to her home in Mount Gilead, North Carolina. Never idle, “Nay” was known as “the life of the party”. She loved her family, friends, and neighbors. She was always there in time of need. Her singing and laughter were truly a sparkle of light. She will be immensely missed, as she is the last “Matriarch” of the Lilly family.

A true believer, “Nay” enjoyed reading her Bible and The Daily Bread. She was member of Spirit and Truth United Church of Worship, Albemarle, North Carolina.

In her leisure she enjoyed creating silk floral arrangements, spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed the many family celebrations and reunion planning parties. She did not have biological children, but she adored her nieces, nephews, and their children.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Allen Walker Jr. on May 13, 2013. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2017.
