Mary Virginia McKinney

Our beloved, Mary Virginia McKinney, entered Eternal rest, Monday, August 12, 2019 at her residence in Albemarle, North Carolina. Born January 16, 1955 in Stanly, County, North Carolina, Mary was the daughter of the late James Samuel and Ocie Hyatt McKinney. She is no longer present with us in body, but her spirit will remain in our hearts forever. 

Mary was educated in the Stanly County public schools and graduated in the Class of 1973 from South Stanly High School, Norwood, North Carolina. She was employed as a customer service associate with Walmart Stores, Inc., Albemarle, North Carolina.

Her church affiliation was with St. Delight Church, Albemarle. She enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone and traveling. Her most happy and joyful times were when she was spending time with her family. Mary had an excellent memory and was the family historian.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings: Jessie James McKinney, Rufus McKinney, James Thomas McKinney, Roosevelt “Bell” McKinney and Cozetta McKinney.

Those left to reflect and cherish fond memories are her daughters: Erica Lindsey, Albemarle, North Carolina and Kesha D.(William) Linder, Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren: Jamarian Lindsey, Tiffany Linder and Mariah Lindsey; brother, Morris (Dorothy) McKinney, Kannapolis, North Carolina; God daughter, Lovely Wilson; a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
