Mary (Morrison) Hearne

In the midst of loss, our family is thankful to have shared a blessed life with Mary Etter Morrison Hearne, who transitioned to eternal rest Saturday, December 27, 2025, at her residence in Albemarle, North Carolina. Mary was born January 6, 1951, in Stanly County, North Carolina; and was the daughter of John Henry and Mary Katerine Tillman Morrison. Gone from our home and our presence, but not from our hearts, Mary will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, warmth, and kindness she imparted to family and friends. May she soar with the angels.

Mary was educated in the Stanly County Public Schools and attended Kingville High School, Albemarle. Never idle, always busy, she was employed in the textile industry for over twenty years; and retired after many years of service with the Lutheran Home,  Albemarle.

A woman of faith, Mary was a student of the Jehovah Witness teachings. In her pastime, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, and dancing. Most of all, she loved her family and friends and enjoyed the shared time together. She also loved solving Word Search and crossword puzzles.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: John Henry Morrison and Mary K. Tillman Morrison; husband, Robert “Tico” Hearne; son, Jeffrey Morrison; and siblings: Joyce Ann Morrison, Albert Knight, David Morrison, Roger Morrison, Ernest Morrison, and John Morrison.

Her loving grace, compassion, and kindness will forever be remembered by her daughters: Pamela Morrison, Marsha Hearne, and Tyishia Hearne (Melvin Hall); grandchildren: Jayden Hearne, Tiyana Hall, and Teyana Hall; sisters: Betty M. (Levander) Edwards and Catherine Elaine Morrison; brother, Henry Morrison; godsons: Tyron McDonald, Larry Waddell, and Lester Currie; sisters-in-law: Carolyn Townsend, Judith Rush, Mary H. Snuggs, and Dorinda (James) Alston; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Our beloved Mary will be missed. We are comforted in knowing that she is at rest in Our Father’s Care.
