Lydia Little Obituary

Mrs. Lydia B. Little was born on May 30, 1932, to the late Mr. James "Jimmy" Gaddy and Mrs. Netta Watson-Gaddy. She peacefully departed this life on January 22, 2025.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Later, she moved to New London, North Carolina, where she joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. There, she faithfully served as a Deaconess and taught Sunday School.

She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Joshua Ray Gainey, who preceded her in death, along with their son, Mr. Michael Ray Gainey. Through this union, they raised two children. Later on she married Mr Charlie William Little who has also preceded her in death in 2009.

Mrs. Little was employed at Wiscassett Mills until her retirement, after which she continued working at Alamo Cleaners until its closure in December 2019.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughter, Mrs. Mary Lynette Gainey-Raymond ("Cassie") of Reston, Virginia, and stepson, Mr. Charlie William Little, Jr. of Wadesboro, North Carolina; five cherished grandchildren: Ms. LaTorya Gainey, Ms. Keshunda Gainey, Ms. Tihesa Burns, Mr. Mikel Gainey, Mr. Anthony Gainey, and Mr. Eric Raymond; seven beloved great-grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs. Elnora Joseph of Connecticut and Mrs. Virginia Cash of Wadesboro, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Mrs. Lydia B. Little's life was a testament to faith, love, and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
