Lucille Little Obituary

Our Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, called Lucille Curtis Little to eternal rest on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at her residence in Badin, North Carolina. Born April 16, 1932, in Stanly County, North Carolina, Lucille was the beloved daughter of Herbert and Parthenia Barringer Curtis. She was a woman of grace and dignity, known for her quiet demeanor and easy-going spirit. She will forever remain precious in our hearts.

Lucille received her education in the Stanly County Public Schools and proudly graduated in the class of 1950 from West Badin High School, Badin. Lucille received her cosmetology certification from Bands Beauty College, Charlotte, North Carolina. She dedicated many faithful years of service to Pfeiffer University, Misenheimer, North Carolina, where she was a valued employee until her retirement.

A devoted woman of faith, Lucille was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Badin. Throughout the years, she served faithfully in several ministries which included: the Missionary Board, Usher Board, and the Finance Department. Her commitment to her church reflected in the depth of her love for her church and her desire to serve others.

In her leisure time, Lucille found joy in crocheting, reading her Bible, and spending cherished moments with her daughter, Janice, who was truly the apple of her eye. She also treasured the time spent with her sister and best friend, Lois, and her family. Lucille loved dancing, especially the swing dance, which always brought a smile to her face.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Thomas Little; and her siblings: Hazel Curtis and Herbert Curtis Jr.

Although death separates us for a time, love binds hearts forever. Lucille’s life and legacy of faith, and love for family will continue to live on in those who cherish her memory. She leaves to celebrate her life and hold her memory dear, her loving daughter, Janice Little;  her devoted sister, Lois Westbrook; nephews: Johnny (Sandy) Westbrook, Maxie Westbrook and Herbert (Diane) Curtis III; niece, April Curtis; grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nana”: Mary Jane, Clare, and Rocky; nieces and nephew: Briona, Whittney, Gabriel, and Sidney; along with a host of church members, neighbors, and friends.
