Lionel Clark Tucker Jr., affectionately known as “Fuzzy”, forever loved and always in our hearts, was called to Eternal rest, Sunday, May 2, 2021, while a patient at Carolinas Medical Center-Main, Charlotte, North Carolina. Lionel was born March 29, 1951 in New York, New York to the parentage of the late Lionel Clark Sr. and Lena G. Holmes Tucker. Lionel was a man of great character whose judgement, humor, and friendly spirit will forever be remembered. He is gone from our presence, but his memory will forever live in our hearts.

He was educated in the Kings County, New York public schools and received his bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York. Lionel was an exemplary employee, and had a stellar career with Brookdale Hospital, Brooklyn where he was the Director of Security.

In his leisure, he enjoyed reading, listening to music, and traveling as time permitted to South Africa, Jamaica, and throughout the United States. Lionel was also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rodney Tucker.

Lionel was married to Claudette Peart Tucker. They celebrated 42 years of marriage and were the proud parents of a daughter, Johára.

Loving memories last forever. Lionel’s memory will be treasured and will not be forgotten by his wife, Claudette P. Tucker, Albemarle, North Carolina; daughter, Johára Tucker, Oakland, California; brothers: Brett (Becky) Tucker, Albemarle, Anthony (Vanessa) Marino, New London, North Carolina, Antoine (Deborah) Tucker, Albemarle, Curit Tucker, New London and Courtney Tucker, Albemarle; sisters: Stacey Tucker, New London, Tanya Tucker, Albemarle, and Jade Tucker, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Beatriz Tucker; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

God’s Plans

We are not always ready

For the things that God has planned.

They are sometimes unexpected

And we do not understand.

But always there is a purpose

Which as yet we may not see.

It is locked away from vision,

But God’s love provides the key.
