Julia Moore Obituary

Lovingly known as, "Bop", Julia Bobbiette Medley Moore was born August 4, 1946, in Badin, North Carolina to the parentage of Thomas and Cornelia Walker Medley.

Julia received her formal education through Stanly County Public Schools, graduating in the class of 1964 from the historic West Badin High School, where she excelled as a part of the women's basketball team, yearbook staff, and was even voted "best dancer" by her classmates. As a Believer, Julia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a long time, dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Badin. There, she was a member of the Spiritual Choir, Pastor's Aide, and Culinary Staff. Devoted to her community, Julia served as a board member of the West Badin High School Alumni Association, Inc., and sang with the West Badin Concert Choir. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, dancing, spending time with family, going on road trips, writing and reciting poetry. She loved to watch all sports, and was an avid Duke Blue Devils basketball fan, as well as a member of the Bid Whist Club. Julia was employed with Collins & Aikman for over 30 years, where she worked as a carpet inspector until retirement.

Our Father in His infinite wisdom called her home to eternal rest on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, while a patient at Atrium Health Cabarrus, Concord, North Carolina.

She has joined her parents; daughter, Lisa Lanette Moore; sisters: Betty Jean Dixon and Philetta Medley; brothers: Darlin, George, Robert Wayne, and Wilbur Medley; and great-grandson, Dorian Hinson in a place of tranquility and peace. Generous of heart and constant of faith defined the life Julia lived.

Always in our hearts and forever loved, she is remembered by her son, Steven Moore; granddaughter whom she reared, Janae (Dexter) Hinson; great-grandchildren: Dariyon, Laila, Harmony and Desire; sisters: Beverly (Richard) Spencer, Carolyn Dixon Agyapong, Georgette (Mike) Edgerton and Darlene Sturdivant; brothers: John (Minnie) Medley, William (Patsy) Medley and Ronnie Medley; sister in law, Margretta Medley; special friends: Ann Jones and Mary Little-Hale; special cousin, Blanche Yelverton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

We are thankful for the years we shared her life. We are comforted in knowing that she is at rest in Our Father's Arms and is soaring with the angels.
