Iris Elaine Crump Shankle, age 64, gave up time for Eternity, Monday, September 10, 2018. She was born December 7, 1953 in Stanly County, North Carolina; and was the daughter of the late Bobby J. Crump, Sr. and Hattie Mae Clark Crump.
She was educated in the public schools of Stanly County and was employed with Wiscassett Mills, Albemarle for several years.
Iris was a member of Barringer Chapel Baptist Church, Norwood, North Carolina. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Cleo Chapter # 122. Iris was an easy-going person who enjoyed spending time with her family. Spoiling her grandchildren, who were the ‘apple of her eye’, was a great source of pleasure and enjoyment.
Her parents and her sister, JoAnn Brown; her dear friend, Wanda Garmon, preceded her in death.
Iris and Angelo Wilson Shankle were married forty-four years and were the proud parents of two children: Torrance and Kwanza.
Those that say farewell and share many fond memories are: husband, Angelo W. Shankle, Norwood; son, Torrance O. Shankle, Winston-Salem, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Kwanza and Roderick Baldwin, Concord, NC; four grandchildren: Kasmine, Khyra, Kaylon, & Khloe; five brothers: Darryl (Arthenia) Ellis, Bobby C.
