Henry Rush

Henry Irving Rush entered Heaven’s Gate Sunday, July 26, 2020. Henry was born in Stanly County, North Carolina on September 11, 1938. His parents were the late Juanita Rush Peoples and Johnnie Peoples. “Pee Wee” as he was fondly known, was reared by his loving grandmother, the late Carrie Emma Rush, Hiriam and Thelma “Polly” Williams. Henry had a quiet and easy-going manner. We give thanks for the many memories and the years we shared his life.

In 1961 he graduated from Bloodworth & Gardener High School, Raleigh, North Carolina. He was employed with Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle, North Carolina for over thirty-five years of dedicated service.

Henry was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, New London, North Carolina. In his leisure, he enjoyed playing Bingo, watching wrestling television programs, sketching, and painting. He was also an excellent automotive repairman.

He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Lynn Greene; brother, Johnnie “Louis” Peoples; and extended family: Donald Williams and Vanessa Worthington.

As we say good-bye to our beloved “Pee Wee” we are comforted in knowing he is with Our Lord and Savior and have been given eternal rest. Family and friends who survive “Pee Wee” are, sons: Phillip (M. (Cheryl) Greene, Charlotte, North Carolina, Timothy (Patricia) Greene, Albemarle, Scottie (Sherrie) Rush, Millingport, North Carolina, James A. Rush, Charlotte, and Shawn P. Rush, East Spencer, North Carolina; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers: Calvin (Mary) Peoples, Charles( Katherine) Peoples, both of Badin, North Carolina  and Roger (Vivian) Peoples, Albemarle; sisters: Marie (Bobby) McDonald, Badin and Dorothy P. Davis, Hickory, North Carolina; extended family: Willie (Sharean) Williams, Ronnie Williams, Lonnie Williams, Linda (Michael) Patterson, and Patricia (James) Norman; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
