Harry Lee Brown

Harry Brown, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed on December 7, 2024, surrounded by love. Born January 7, 1961, he was the beloved son of Harold and Pearl Cunningham Brown. Harry was a man of warmth, humility, and quiet strength who touched the lives of many with kindness and dedication. Harry was one of eight siblings, growing up in a family full of love and togetherness. He cherished his brothers and sisters and the bond they shared were a cornerstone of his life. Harry was a devoted father to his daughters, Jaliya and Aaliyah, whom he adored and guided with unwavering love and support. They were his pride and joy, and he often spoke of their accomplishments with a smile that could light up any room.

Harry was a 1981 graduate of North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina.  Professionally, he found joy and purpose in his work as a cook at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,  Albemarle, where his culinary talents and passion for food brought comfort and delight to those around him. His colleagues admired his dedication and friendly spirit, and he formed lasting relationships that became like a second family. Harry will be remembered for his generous heart, his quiet sense of humor, and the way he could make anyone feel at home.

In addition to his parents, his brothers: Brothel Kendall and Tommy Cunningham preceded him in death.

He enjoyed many spirited services and the fellowship of friends at Spirit and Truth United Church of Worship, Albemarle where he was a member. In his leisure time, Harry enjoyed watching NASCAR and was an avid NFL Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

He leaves a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will live in the hearts of his daughters: Jaliya Little and Aaliyah Little; sisters: Earlene Cunningham and Arlene Cunningham, Betty Porters, and Jennifer Brown; brothers: Ray (Claudette) Cunningham, Harold Lee (Donna) Brown, and  Stacey Brown; special aunts: Linda Cunningham and Elizabeth Benjamin; a host of other relatives and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
