Grace Drye Simon

Grace Drye Simon, daughter of the late Robert Lee Drye Sr. and Elouise Pergee Drye, was born August 6, 1957, in Albemarle, Stanly County, North Carolina. Grace entered eternal rest, Wednesday, February 9, 2022, while a patient at Atrium Health-Pineville, Charlotte, North Carolina. We give thanks for Grace’s life, and find comfort in knowing that she has made it home, and now rests in Arms of our Savior.

She was educated in the Stanly County public schools and attended Albemarle Senior High School, Albemarle.

Grace was a member of First Baptist Church, New London, North Carolina. She loved to cook a delicious meal for her family. One of her favorite past times was spending time with her family…as family was most important to her.

She was married to Douglas Simon. They were a devoted couple who were loving parents to their children: Ebony, Amber, Ivori, and Torrence.

Her parents, and siblings: Helen Lilly and Eddie Drye, preceded her in death.

Always in our hearts, Grace will lovingly be remembered by her husband, Douglas Simon; children: Ebony (Maria) Simon, Amber (Jerry) Wright, Ivori Simon, and Torrence Drye; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters: Mary Frances (John) Edwards, Juanita Hearne, Jessie Davis, Christine (Willie) Cagle, Dorothy Watts, Bertha Blanding, Barbara Ann Drye, Lora (Reverend Reginald) Clark, Contesse (Harry) Craig, Rhonda Lilly, Gayzelle Lilly, Janet Butler, and Joyce (Aaron) Wright; brothers: Robert (Denise) Drye Jr., Ricky (Brenda) Lillly, Felix (Dorethea) Drye, and Edwin Drye; a host of other relatives and friends.
