Franklin Richardson, age 83, gave up time for eternity Thursday, July 31, 2025, while a patient at Atrium Health-Stanly, Albemarle, North Carolina. He was born May 12, 1942, in Albemarle; and was the son of Travis Richardson and Alice Tyson Clark. We give thanks for the many years we shared Franklin’s life.
He received his formal education in the Stanly County Public Schools and graduated from the historic Kingville High School, Albemarle. Prior to retirement, Franklin was employed in the textile industry. Franklin was an outdoorsman who was physically fit. He walked five miles a day. Franklin was outgoing, loved to meet people, and was a loving and devoted father. Never one to sit around, he was adventurous and loved to travel.
His parents, Travis and Alice; daughters: Gloria and Rita Richardson; and brother, David Clark preceded him in death.
Fond and loving memories will forever shine brightly in the hearts of his sons: Ronnie McElveen and Franklin Richardson Jr. ; twenty-four grandchildren; siblings: Bill Clark, Harry Clark, Bo Clark, Joe Clark, Shirley Clark, Clara Clark, and Mary Clark; a host of other relatives and friends.
