Fasto-Deiza Omar McLendon

Reflections of A Life Loved…

Fasto-Deiza Omar McLendon warmed and brightened our lives for forty-three years. He finished his course and entered the Kingdom of Our Savior, Sunday, April 30, 2023. “Omar”, as he was fondly known, was born April 5, 1980, in Stanly County, North Carolina. He was the son of Wanda Lilly McLendon and Frederick Rush Sr. Gone from our home, but never from our hearts, his memory will always be cherished. May Omar soar with the Angels until we meet again.

He was educated in the Stanly County public schools and attended West Stanly High School, Red Cross, North Caroilna. He was a former employee of Fibron Composite Decking, New London, North Carolina. Omar attended his family’s home church, Colston Street Church of God,  Albemarle, North Carolina. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing with his stepfather, calisthenics, and weight lifting. He was versatile and quite the handyman.

His maternal grandparents, Theodore Lilly Sr., and Thelma Ruth Lilly, and niece, Aaliyah Richardson, preceded him in death.

Family and friends who will forever love and cherish memories of Omar are his children: Jacobly, Kyleigh, Malika, Kristyn, Carmen, Zoe, Addyson, Kaydence, Kasayiah, Amor, Adalyn, and Kingston; grandchildren: Jo’Korria and Kayden; mother, Wanda L. McLendon; father, Fredrick Rush Sr.; stepfather, Elder Ellis McLendon; brothers: Kino (Trena) Lilly, Ellis Daniels, and Fredrick Rush Jr.; sisters: Takesha Love, Latwanna Cunningham, Carmen Rush and Twanaya Lewis; a host of nieces,nephews, uncles, aunts, other relatives, and friends.
