Eugene Scott, age 79, transitioned from his earthy life Monday, June 17, 2019. Born April 1, 1940 in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Howard and Liddie Harris Scott. “Gene” as he was fondly known greeted his fellowman with a smile and always enjoyed a lively conversation. We give thanks for a life well-lived.
He attended the Stanly County public schools and was a graduate of the historic Kingville High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. Prior to retirement, he was employed with Colt Lumber Company, New London, North Carolina.
“Gene” was a member of Colston Street Church, Albemarle where he served as church treasurer and sang in the church choir. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, watching television, singing and living life to the fullest.
In addition to his parents, “Gene” was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia William Scott and his brother, Charles Scott.
Fond and cherished memories will remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Survivors are, his sons: Chris Scott and Wayne Scott, both of High Point, North Carolina, Gerald (Cicely) Scott, New Haven, Connecticut and Charles (Leisha) Scott, Charlotte, North Carolina; daughters: Tomeka Scott, Texas, Missy Scott Boyd, New Haven, Connecticut and Monica (Robert) Scott; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Louise Scott, New Haven, Connecticut; other relatives and countless friends.
“Goodnight “Gene” may flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest”.
