Ellen R (Baldwin) Travick

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, Ellen Roberta Travick quietly left on her well-planned journey to her new home in Glory, where she is already in fellowship with the Lord, her beloved daughter, family and friends. In sweet peace and surrounded by her grandchildren she departed from this life of 78 years at Big Elm Nursing Center after several weeks of illness.

Ellen, known to all as “Sissy”, was a graduate from the historic West Badin High School, Badin, North Carolina. She worked for Motel Restaurant, Richfield, North Carolina for several years as a cook. Nothing brought her more joy than to prepare home cooked meals for her family and friends to enjoy. Her favorite hobbies were cooking, listening to beach music, crossword puzzles, and watching soap operas. Her church affiliation was as a member of First Baptist Church, Richfield, North Carolina.

She was loyal and devoted to her family. She cherished every moment with her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Baldwin and Julia Mae Baldwin; daughter, Julia Mae Baldwin Craig; brothers: Robert “Bobby” Owens, William “Billy” Owens, TC Marshall Owens and Lee Baldwin; sisters: Betty Jean Clark and Lelia Mae Owens.

Ellen was dearly beloved and mourned by her grandchildren: Robert Baldwin, Albemarle, North Carolina, Nerissa Baldwin, Albemarle, North Carolina, Candice Craig, Salisbury, North Carolina and LaKeita Craig, Salisbury, North Carolina; ten great grandchildren: Coullen, Damon Jr., Kyrean, Jabarhi, Michaela, Karrington, Mason, Omari, Ari, and Aaliyah; sister, Teresa (Samuel) Miller; special nephew, James “JB” Owens and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
