A woman of grace and dignity, Mrs. Elizabeth Ray Hinson Washington, entered eternal rest, Sunday, June 11, 2023, surrounded by loving family members. We give thanks to Our Lord and Savior for the many years we shared her life. Elizabeth was born July 2, 1942, in Montgomery County, North Carolina, to the parentage of Macy Lee Sr. and Mable Scarboro Hinson. Elizabeth, an unforgettable individual, always went the extra mile to be a friend. Gone from our home, but not from our hearts, her memory will forever be treasured.
Elizabeth was educated in the Stanly County public schools and attended the historic West Badin High School, Badin, North Carolina. She was employed with Stanly Manor Healthcare Center, Albemarle, North Carolina, and retired after many years of service.
In her leisure, Elizabeth enjoyed spending time and celebrating holidays with her family, decorating her home, and traveling to her favorite travel destination-the beach. She was also considered a fashionista as she loved shopping and wearing beautiful clothes.
She has finished her journey on earth and has reunited with her parents; her husband, Harry “Bones” Washington, who preceded her in death on November 16, 2019; and her sister, Fannie Mae Hinson.
Wonderful and cherished memories will forever live in the hearts of her daughter, Shelia Washington; grandchildren: Tiffany Washington, Quincey (Minnie Nicole) Washington, Trey (Kellie) Washington, and Phillip (Erica) Washington; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Deloris Hinson Lilly; brothers: Macy Lee (Joanna) Hinson Jr., Anthony Ray Hinson, and Alfred (Diane) Hinson; a host of other relatives and friends.
“Her courage, her smile, and her grace will forever be remembered. May she soar with the Angels”.
