Elizabeth Geneva (Smith) Christian

Our dearly beloved Elizabeth Geneva Smith Christian entered Heaven’s Gate Wednesday, June 17, 2020 in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Mrs. Christian was born November 16, 1932 in Cheraw, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Walter and Willie Belle Short Smith. She was a woman of faith who was loved and revered by her family, church, and community. We find solace in sharing her life for so many years and knowing that she is now with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Christian was educated in the Stanly County public schools and attended West Badin High School, Badin, North Carolina. She retired in 1991 from Federal Pacific Electric Company, Albemarle, North Carolina.

She was a devoted member of Saint Luke Holiness Church, Badin. At Saint Luke she was a former church secretary, Sunday School teacher, “Mother of the Church”, and former member of the Senior Choir. Her hobbies included: solving crossword & word search puzzles, playing Scrabble with her family, shopping, and spending time with her sisters.  She will be remembered by her love she shared during her monthly prayer breakfasts.

Mrs. Christian was married to Thomas Christian Sr. who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband; her son, Elbert Christian Sr.; siblings: Willie Mae Harris, Geraldine Turner, Juanita Conward and Walter Smith II preceded her in death.

We have been blessed abundantly to have shared the beautiful life of Elizabeth. She will be remembered fondly and affectionately by her sons: Thomas (Sharon) Christian Jr., Dayton, Ohio and Elder Douglas (Katrina) Christian, Raleigh, North Carolina; daughters: Brenda Sturdivant, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bonita (Ernest) Brown, LaGrange, Georgia and Felicia Davis, Greenville, South Carolina; --13  grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a daughter -in-law, Deborah Christian, Fayetteville, North Carolina; sisters: Helen Pankey, Badin, North Carolina and Walillian Tyson, Cheshire, Connecticut; a host of other relatives and countless friends.
