Dorsey Lilly transitioned to eternal rest, Monday, November 17, 2025, in Oakboro, North Carolina. Affectionately known as, “T T”, he was born February 2, 1959, in Stanly County, North Carolina to the parentage of Theodore Sr. and Thelma Ruth Clark Lilly. “T T” inspired us to be authentic and true to our beliefs. His truth reflected honesty, straight forwardness, and candor. He will be sadly missed and loved. Love never ends; love is eternal.
He was educated in the Stanly County Public Schools and graduated in the class of 1977 from Albemarle Senior High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. “T T” served in the United States Army. He was employed with the Albemarle Public Utilities Department where he was a supervisor prior to his retirement.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed landscaping; and he was a great handyman who could repair most anything. Another one of his hobbies was repairing and maintaining automobiles. “T T” also loved spending time with his family and enjoying the family celebrations.
He has joined his wife, Picolia Lilly; parents, Theodore and Thelma Ruth Lilly; brothers: Steve McCormick, Aaron Richardson, Theodore “Ted” Lilly Jr., and Tym Scott; sisters: Johnsie Lilly and Wanda McLendon in a place where the woes of the world are no more and all is tranquil and beautiful.
The music is quiet; the sun has set. “T T” has finished his course in life. His memory will forever live in the hearts of his daughters: Marissa ( Nathan Praytor) Lilly and Kippi (Antonio) Stevenson; sons: Mondarius (Tawanna) Henry and Danteez (Diane) Bryant; special grandchildren: Amirah, Jaydan, Gabby, and MaKenzie; special nieces: Takeisha Bryant and Nicola Love; sisters: Shelby Ashcraft, Vivian Little, and Lanetta Prichard; brother, Rick Scott; a host of other relatives and friends.
