Dolly Hinson Obituary

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Dolly Lea Hinson’s wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Gone too soon, her memory will always be a part of us. She was born on a fall day, September 3, 1961 in Stanly County, North Carolina. Affectionately known as “Tracy”, she was the youngest child of the late Thomas Calvin Hinson and Margaret Hinson-Young. She epitomized the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When tomorrow begins and “Tracy” has moved to the ‘upper room’, we will remember her with fondness; and know that she has made it safely home.

Educated in the Stanly County public schools, “Tracy” graduated in the class of 1979 from North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina. Compassionate and loving, “Tracy” chose a career in nursing. She was formerly employed with Accordius Healthcare, Salisbury, North Carolina.

A servant heart, “Tracy” was a believer and enjoyed her many years of membership at Greater Glory Transformation Center, Salisbury, North Carolina. She was the president of the Usher Board and a member of the church choir. “Tracy” loved singing. She was also a member of the Spirit of Praise Singing Group and the United Gospel Singers.

In her pastime, she enjoyed fishing and dancing. However, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She had a radiant smile, that could warm a cold winter’s day.

“Tracy” has been called to her Heavenly home where she has joined her parents, daughter, Elizabeth G. Hinson, sister, Doris Ann Butler, and brothers: Frankie and Wayne Hinson in a place where every day is like Sunday and the woes of the world are no more.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. “Tracy” will not be forgotten by her devoted daughter, Adrian Nicole Hinson, of the home; grandchildren: Ananda Hinson and Everette Brewington, both of the home; brothers: Henry (Bonnie) Hinson, Albemarle, North Carolina and Marvin (Francine) Young, Salisbury; sisters: Bernice Hinson, Raeford, North Carolina, Minister Margaret Young, Salisbury, Helen (Forrest) Davis, New London, North Carolina, Jane Hinson, Maryland, Lydia Mclean, Snellville, Georgia, Roberta (Kenny) Johnson, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Jacqueline Brawley, Mooresville, North Carolina; Godson, Calvin Edwards, Charlotte; special nieces: Chrystal Krider, Salisbury and Kippi Stevenson, Clemmons, North Carolina; special nephew, Wlliam Hinson, Albemarle; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and best friend, Gaye Dykes.

“Goodbye is not forever; goodbye is not the end. They simply mean, we will miss you until we meet again”.
