Forever young, forever in our hearts, Devin Lee Davis, transitioned to eternal rest, Monday, January 17, 2022, while a patient at Atrium Health-Cabarrus, Concord, North Carolina. Our beloved was a bright shining light who was born October 1, 1977, in Stanly County, North Carolina; and was the son of Forrest Sr. and Helen Hinson Davis. Words cannot express our profound sadness as we mourn the loss of Devin. Our love for him is forever; and his memory will live with us through eternity. Until we meet again, may Devin rest at peace in God’s Garden.
He received his formal education in the Stanly County public schools and graduated in the class of 1995 from North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina. For many years he was employed with Rosebriar Restaurant, Albemarle, North Carolina.
Devin began his Christian journey at an early age and later joined Cedar Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, New London. There he was a member of the Usher Board Auxiliary. Devin enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Devin has finished his earthly journey and was welcomed to his heavenly home by his aunts: Tracy “Dolly” Hinson and Lilly Stevenson.
He enriched our lives and brightened our days. When tomorrow begins and he is no longer present with us in body, we will hold fast to his memory, smile, kindness and above all the love that will never fade. Devin will be forever cherished and treasured by his mother and father: Helen and Forrest Davis Sr.; sisters: Tina Davis and Kippi (Antonio) Stevenson; brothers: Forrest Davis Jr., Shawn Brown, and Deiza Blue; nieces: Chalito Hinson, Alexandria Davis and Taria Townsend; nephews: Trevor Davis and Cameron Davis; great nephew, Taytum Davis; sisters-in-law: Sharon Davis and Devita Brown; special uncle, Marvin (Francine) Young; special aunt, Johanna (Macy) Hinson; special cousins: Tony Griffin and Shelia Owens; special friends: James “ Jimmy” Hatcher, Robert Medley, Shantane Williams, and Duane Quick; a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
