Danny Stanley Rorie

In sweet peace, our beloved, Danny Stanley Rorie, departed this earthly life, Tuesday, September 8, 2020, while a patient at Atrium Health-Anson, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Born January 27, 1960 in Anson County, North Carolina, Danny was the son of the late Brutus M. Sr., and Alease Smith Rorie. We give thanks to the Almighty Savior for allowing us to share his life. We will forever treasure the many fond memories.

Danny was educated in the Anson County public schools and graduated from the historic Bowman High School, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a security guard with the North Carolina Department of Corrections (Brown Creek) Polkton, North Carolina.

Danny attended Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (Pee Dee Community) Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. In his early years, he enjoyed participating in martial arts, especially karate. Other sources of relaxation included: fishing, riding his motorcycle, spending time with family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast who always loved watching and playing sports.

His parents, Brutus Sr. and Alease; siblings: Patricia R. Dunn, Mary Alice Rorie, and Tommy Lee Rorie, preceded him in death.

Danny and Gloria Greene Rorie were a devoted couple who celebrated twenty years of marriage in June 2020.

Words cannot express our heartfelt love and devotion for Danny as we mourn his passing. He had a warm and loving demeanor. Survivors who will remember his kindness and generosity are:  his wife, Gloria G. Rorie, Wadesboro; son, Devon Stanley (Makeba) Rorie, Monroe, North Carolina; daughters: Merrissia Rorie , Sa-Lisa Little, both of Charlotte, North Carolina ,Danquishisa Greene, Albemarle, North Carolina and Jelisa Greene, Wadesboro; nine grandchildren; brothers: Brutus M. (Monica) Rorie Jr., Germany and Derico Rorie, Wadesboro; sister-in-law, Joletha Rorie, Rockingham, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
