Coretta Mechelle Ridenhour

Coretta Mechelle Ridenhour we remember her lovely smile and sweet sweet spirit. We are heart-broken over her loss but find solace in knowing that she now lives amongst Angels and Our Heavenly Father. She was born October 6, 1970 in Stanly County, North Carolina and was the daughter of Sandra Ridenhour Nicholson and the late Larry Davis Sr. We give thanks for Coretta’s life and as we say farewell; and we love you, know that we will see her again in that Great Getting’ Up Morning.

“Sweet” as she was affectionately known, graduated in the Class of 1990 from Albemarle Senior High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. Coretta furthered her education and received certification from ECPI in the field of medical home health services. She later received an Associate degree from Ultimate Medical Academy, Clearwater, Florida. She was employed in the private home health care sector.

A believer, Coretta was a devoted member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Kannapolis, North Carolina. At Covenant, she was involved in the Youth Message Ministry, Kitchen Committee and Deaconess Board. Her hobbies included: traveling, watching movies and assisting friends and families with the rearing of their children.

Coretta’s kindness and compassion for her fellowman will remain in the hearts of her mother, Sandra Ridenhour Nicholson, Kannapolis; sisters: Stephanie Nicholson (Wayne), Kannnapolis and Teresa  Ann Davis, Albemarle; brother, Larry (Keisha) Davis Jr., Albemarle; grandfather, Charlie Ridenhour, Albemarle; grandmother, Doris Ridenhour, Charlotte, North Carolina; aunts: Sherry Ridenhour, Elaine Watkins, Sondra Williams, Betty Davis and LaTonya Horne; uncles: Wayne----- and Scottie Dunlap; step-mother, Jessie Dry Davis; adopted sister, Jessica Davis; fiance’, Antonio McRae; nieces of the home she helped to rear: Sha’Kwisha Clark, Maaliyah “Buddha” Stewart and Kenisha Watkins ;other nieces: Farron Watson and Alexis Davis; nephews: Chris Watson, Elijah Threadgill, DeMonte Sherrill, Terry Campbell Jr. and Jalan Johnson; God sisters: Spring Watkins, Katherine Wall, Onita Sherrill, Angela G. Johnson, Teresa Davis, Regina Lipscomb and LaTonya Gilmore; God brothers: Maurice Burns and William Jackson; God children: Tiffany D. Polk, Heaven Parks, Averiana McLendon and Ariana McLendon; best friends: Wanda Moss and Diana A. McLendon; many other relatives and friends.
