In God's Care, our beloved, Cleveland Clay McLendon Jr., transitioned from labor to reward, Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Cleveland was born November 18, 1971, in Albemarle, North Carolina; and was the son of the late Cleveland Clay McLendon Sr. and Beverly Gaines Harrison. Gone from our home, but not from our hearts, Cleveland will be remembered for his kind demeanor and love forfamily and friends. We find solace in knowing that he rests in Our Father's Arms.
Cleveland was educated in the Stanly County public schools and graduated in the class of 1990 from South Stanly High School, Norwood, North Carolina. After high school, Cleveland honorably served in the United States Army and Marines.
At an early age, Cleveland accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and attended hisfamily's home church, Barringer Chapel Baptist Church, Norwood. He was easy going, modest, and unassuming. Cleveland enjoyed the simple things in life. His hobbies included: listening to music, reading, and fishing.
His wife, Sandra McLendon, and his parents preceded him in death.
Cleveland is survived by his daughters: Christin McLendon, Jasmine McLendon, and Alivia McLendon; son, Christian McLendon; grandchildren; stepfather, James Harrison; stepmother, Denise McLendon; sisters and brothers; a host of other relatives and friends.
