God in his infinite wisdom called our beloved, Carrie Lana Smith Grady, to Eternal rest, Thursday, October 8, 2020.Carrie, the daughter of the late John E. and Mary Bost Smith, was born April 23, 1954 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Carrie had a sweet spirit. She never said she was leaving; we never had a chance to say good-bye. She was gone before we knew it, and only Our God knew why. Our hearts are saddened; but we are comforted in knowing that she is resting in her Heavenly home …and soaring with the Angels.
Carrie was educated in the Stanly County public schools and graduated from North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina. During her career, she was employed as a certified nursing assistant, medical technician, and phlebotomist. She retired from Taylor House Assisted Living, Albemarle, North Carolina.
A faithful member of Church of God of Prophecy, Albemarle, Carrie served on the Pastoral Care and Missionary Board auxiliaries. She was also a financial officer of the church and member of the choir. Carrie enjoyed visiting church members and serving Our Lord through His Word and deeds.
Carrie’s parents; her siblings: Mary Frances Allen, Beulah Smith and Oliver Smith preceded her in death.
Her family and friends will remember with fondness and life-long memories, the many family gatherings, and celebrations shared with Carrie. Survivors are: her sons: Johnny (Laquanza) Grady, Albemarle, Henry (Kristena) Bryant Jr., and Emmanuel (Kamika) Grady, Augusta, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren and one grandchild; sisters: Shirley Morgan, Mildred (Leon) Brown, Georgia Haywood, and Verious Hinson, all of Albemarle; brothers: John H.
