Brenda Lilly Gramling, age 72 died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Born September 29, 1947 in Stanly County, North Carolina, Brenda was the daughter of the late Alphonso Lilly Sr. and Catherine Barger Lilly. Our beloved Brenda’s life has come to a close, but we are comforted in knowing that she enjoyed her life and now rests in the Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was educated in the Stanly County public schools and graduated from North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina. Brenda received her Associate degree in Dietary Science from Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, North Carolina. She was a dietician with Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte and a certified nursing assistant with Vernis Healthcare prior to her retirement.
Brenda was a member of Parkers Grove Baptist Church, New London. She was a former member of the Usher Board and Senior Choir. In her younger years, she played on the Varsity Basketball team while in high school. In her leisure, she loved to cook, dance and enjoy watching sports events.
Her parents and her siblings: Kathy Ann Lilly, Beatrice L. Cheek, David Lilly, George Lilly, Douglas Lilly and Margie Martin preceded her in death.
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and as we say our good-byes to Brenda, the love and memory will remain in the hearts of her daughter, Theresa Ruffin, New London; son, Michael (Pamela) Gramling, Albemarle; grandchildren: Latavia Moore, LaToya Gramling, Matthew Gramling, Raven Laney and Emmanuel Ruffin; great grandchildren: TaNiyah Moore, Javion Wood, Falen Moore and Sabir Malik; brothers: Willie Lee Lilly and Alphonso Lilly Jr. both of New Haven, Connecticut; sisters: Bernice Henderson, Las Vegas, Nevada and Barbara Jean Gibson, New London; adopted children: Pamela Ingram Hall, Neill Shannon, and Isayah Shalom; best friend, Phyllis Barger; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
