Deacon Bobby Reid Rushing life's journey came to a close, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, while a patient at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle, North Carolina. Born July 4, 1945, in Marshville, Union County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James and Mary Rushing. A treasure on earth, his memory will forever live in our hearts.
He was a graduate of Kingville High School, Albemarle and retired from Alcoa Badin Works, Badin, North Carolina after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Alcoa Twenty-five Year Club.
Deacon Rushing's church affiliation was with Corner Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, Albemarle, where he served faithfully as a member of the Deacon and Usher Boards, and Superintendent of the Sunday School.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Elder Connie Wright Rushing who preceded him in death. Their son, Timothy B. Rushing, also preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted daughter, Mary Louise (Warren) Rushing-Stewart; sons: Bobby (Sparklyn) Rushing, Ernest ( Shana) Rushing, and Travis(Andria) Rushing; grandchildren: Chelsea Stewart, Jamall Stewart, Tyrese Stewart, Timothy Rushing, Miranda Rushing, Daqshae Rushing, Travis Rushing Jr., and Mickenzie Rushing; sisters: Emma (Johnny) Rushing and Geneviene (Nelrain) Myers; a host of nieces and nephews from Albemarle, Maryland, and New York.
