God’s servant at rest, Bobby Leon Norman, age 71, transitioned to eternal sleep, Friday, November 5, 2021. Bobby was born December 15, 1949, in McCormick County, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Clifford and Annie Mae Mims Norman. Bobby was quiet and a man of few words. He was kind, compassionate, and always went the extra mile to help others. We give thanks for the many years we shared his life. He was loved and will be sadly missed.
Bobby attended the McCormick County public schools. Never idle, he always worked diligently to provide for his family. He was a concrete finisher by trade.
Prior to declining health, he was a faithful member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Badin, North Carlina where he sang on the Men’s Choir. In his pastime, Bobby enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing, and watching his favorite NFL Football Team, the Carolina Panthers.
His parents and stepson, Charles Rushing preceded him in death.
Those who survive and will remember Bobby fondly are his wife, Pearline R. Norman; son, Bobby Lee (Elizabeth) Norman; stepsons: Gary Lee Rushing and John Rushing; stepdaughters: Brittany Patton and Queen Wall; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; brothers: Charles Norman and Wilbur “Tut” Norman; sisters: Willie White, Betty Norman, Shirley Norman, Robbie (Arthur) Harrison, Lizzie Garrett, and Lillian Martin; girlfriend, Teresa Patton; a host of other relatives and friends.
