Bobby Ray Harris Sr., age 59, gave up time for Eternity on Monday, July 27, 2020 at his residence surrounded by loving family members. ‘‘Swamp” as he was fondly known was born June 28, 1961, in Stanly County, North Carolina. His parents were the late Ed and Allene Kirk Harris. Bobby was kind, considerate and always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellowman. We have many fond memories of Bobby and he will be dearly missed.
He attended North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina; and was employed as a fork-lift operator with Gold Hill Lumber, Gold Hill, North Carolina until he retired due to health challenges.
Bobby was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Albemarle, where he was a former Trustee Board member. He also assisted with the upkeep and maintenance of the church cemetery. An avid sports enthusiast, Bobby enjoyed baseball, football, and basketball. His favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves, the Carolina Panthers, and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team, respectively. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He has joined his parents and his brother, Ronnie Harris in a place we are told is perfect in every way.
Bobby and Kimberly Stallings Harris were a devoted couple who celebrated over twenty three years of marriage.
Gone but never forgotten, Bobby is survived by his wife, Kimberly S. Harris, of the home; children: Adrian Stallings, Elijah Harris, Bobby Ray Harris Jr., and Aliyah J. Harris all of Concord, North Carolina; brothers: Clarence (Connie), Steven Sr., Henry (Denice), Nathan (Sarah), David, Stanley, James, Anthony, Samuel, and Michael; sisters: Phyllis Gramling, Winifred Kendall, Eddrena Knight, Tami (Larry) Leak, Jessie Rivers, Jacqueline Harris, Janet Little, and Katherine Harris; uncles: Arthur Kirk and John( Brenda) Kirk; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and best friends: James Hartsell and Ezekiel Hartsell.
