Blondie Gramling Watkins

Blondie Gramling Watkins transitioned to eternal rest Thursday, December 5, 2025, at her residence in Badin, North Carolina. She was born January 9, 1953, in Stanly County, North Carolina; and was the daughter of Ernest Ben “EB” and Elizabeth Wilson Grambling. We are thankful for the many years and fond memories we shared with Blondie. She is no longer present in our lives, but her light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

She graduated in the class of 1971 from North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina; and was employed as a certified nursing assistant with the Lutheran Home, Albemarle, until her retirement. Blondie was a devoted and special caregiver.  There was no one like, “Aunt Blondie”. She was loved unconditionally by her siblings,  and especially by her nieces and nephews.

As a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, New London, Blondie served as a Deaconess, member of the Praise Team, and Pastor’s Aide. She attended church faithfully until health challenges did not permit her attendance. In her pastime, she enjoyed listening to Gospel music, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Blondie was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Hinson, who was the apple of her eye. Her brothers: Eugene Gramling, Marvin Gramling, and Rickey Gramling also preceded her in death.

Blondie is survived by her son-in-law, Douglas Hinson; sisters: Ella Carpenter, Katie (Ernest) Peoples, Mary (Bill) Barnes, Juanita Murchison, and Selma White; brothers: Eli (Mary) Gramling and Andrew Gramling; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
