On Friday, July 30th our beloved one fell asleep in death at home. We the family find comfort in the fulfillment of Acts 24:15. Billy was born in Stanly County, North Carolina on October 3rd, 1967. The son of the late James Herman & Geneva Little Mclendon. Billy graduated with the class of 1985 from North Stanly High School. Billy worked as an Assembler and Parts Supervisor at Daimler Trucks in Cleveland, NC for over 25 years.
Although not baptized, Billy studied the Bible and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Albemarle, North Carolina.
Billy was preceeded in death by his parents James & Geneva, his son Tevis Swaringen, brother Herman Mclendon, and Grandma Genny.
Billy and Mechelle were happily married for over 25 years. Billy will be remembered and cherished by sons: Jeremy (Alyssa) Ledbetter of Albemarle. Desmond Jarrell Mclendon of New London. Derek (Sarah) Mclendon of Charlotte. Daughter Jasmine Scott of Albemarle. Grandson Jalen Gauge Ledbetter and Granddaughters Lylah Rose & Leyanna Raine Corpening. Sisters: Thelonionus (Thomas) Wright of New London, Genesa Seegars of Baltimore, Maryland.
Uncles: Ernest Little, George (Janice) Mclendon, and Steve (Lori).
Aunts: Lucille Little, Blondie Burns, Mary (Michael) Hale.
Cousins, Donty, John, Johnetta, and Beaver shared a special relationship after the passing of his mother Geneva.

Billy’s presence sparked joy and was loved by countless members of family and friends who enriched his life. Those not mentioned know the relationship they shared with Billy and his family appreciates and acknowledges those relationships with grateful hearts.
