Antionette Carlene Cato gave up time for Eternity on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at her residence in New London, North Carolina. Antionette was the daughter of Anthony and Annette Wilson Cato. She was born September 19, 1970 in Albemarle, North Carolina. We are saddened to lose Antionette at such an early age. She was a blessing to our family, and we were happy to have shared a beautiful life. The memories we hold in our hearts are everlasting.
She was educated in the Stanly County public schools; and was a 1988 graduate of North Stanly High School, New London, North Carolina. Antionette was last employed with Shoe Show Warehouse, Concord, North Carolina.
Family gatherings and holidays were special to her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her only grandchild, Amelia, who was the ‘sunshine on a cloudy day’. Natural talent and an artistic flair were gifts from God. She had a beautiful voice, who loved music and loved to sing. Antionette was a talented, self-taught hairdresser and designer. We were captivated at her effortless holiday designing skills and her craftmanship in assisting the children with school projects.
Antionette’s memory will be cherished by her sons: Rashaad Baldwin (Taresha Green), Albemarle, North Carolina and Jayden Lilly, of the home; daughters: Shawntel Baldwin, Charlotte, North Carolina and Janaisha Lilly, of the home; granddaughter, Amelia Baldwin, Albemarle; parents, Anthony and Annette W. Cato, New London, North Carolina; sister, Leslie Cato, Concord, North Carolina; brother, Rodney Cato, New London; paternal grandmother, Cardie Lee Cato, Detroit, Michigan; best friend, Donna Williams, Albemarle; a host of other family members and friends.
When tomorrow starts without our dear Antionette, we will find solace in knowing she lived a fulfilled life and was dearly loved. We will see her again in that Great Getting Up Morning.
