Gone from us, but forever in our hearts, Amos Davis Jr., age 55, entered Eternal rest, Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence in Albemarle, North Carolina. “AJ”, as he was fondly known was born August 22, 1965 in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Amos Sr. and Reverend Mildred Wesley Davis. “AJ” was charismatic, jovial, and always kept things lively. His kind and compassionate demeanor always brought a smile to many. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
He was educated in the Forsyth County public schools, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and was a long-time employee with the City of Norwood, Norwood, North Carolina.
“AJ” was a former member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Winton-Salem; and was affiliated with New Faith Christian Church, Ansonville, North Carolina and First Baptist Church, Norwood.
In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing and making sure that his home and surroundings were properly maintained. He was proficient and could repair many gadgets. “AJ” loved his family and friends, as well as his many pets, especially his goats.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Preston Davis.
Always precious in our hearts, “AJ” will be remembered with love by his sisters: Sherry “Puddin’” McDermott, Carolyn “Cookie” (Glen) Searcy, both of Winston-Salem and his twin sister, Zelphia “Angel” (Anthony) McCoy, Tobaccoville, North Carolina; uncle, Reverend Lorenzo (Gloria) Wesley, Winston-Salem; aunt, Patricia Jennings; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
