Stephney Olivia Butler Little, age 52, transitioned from her earthly home to her Eternal Home, Friday, February 2, 2018 at her residence in Albemarle, North Carolina. She was born March 25,1965 in Manhattan, New York; and was the daughter of Wilbert, Sr. and Olivia Kendall Butler. We give thanks to the Almighty for the privilege of sharing Stephney’s life. She will be missed dearly, and her memory will forever be a part of our life.
She was educated in the Stanly County public schools and was a 1983 graduate of Albemarle Senior High School, Albemarle. Prior to her declining health she was employed with the Saddle Creek Corporation, Harrisburg, North Carolina. Stephney and her family attended Saints Delight Church, Albemarle.
Stephney was fun-loving and adventurous. She enjoyed traveling, and playing games with her family during family gatherings, as she was an avid competitor. Other hobbies included: cooking, fishing, and gardening. We will always remember her favorite saying, “I get wit cha”.
She was welcomed to her Heavenly home by two brothers: Rickey Butler and Wilbert Butler, Jr.; aunts: Mattie Leake, Francis Ellis, and Rometta Butler; uncles: Claude Butler, Larry Butler and Arthur G. Ingram.
Stephney and Jerome Little were a devoted couple who celebrated over thirty-five years of marriage. Their son, Frank “Boot” Burton, was the joy and center of their lives.
As we say our good-byes to Stephney, we are remined of how special she was to us and that her memory will forever be treasured. She is survived by: a devoted husband, Jerome Little, Albemarle, North Carolina; son, Frank “Boot” Burton, Albemarle, North Carolina; grandchildren: Layla and Jaice Burton; parents: Wilbert, Sr. and Olivia K. Butler, Albemarle, North Carolina; brothers: Michael Butler, Norwood, North Carolina, Steven Snuggs, Dalton, Alabama, and John Devore, Albemarle, North Carolina; sisters: Flechia Kirk, High Point, North Carolina, Theresa Butler, Tamika Butler, and Angie Butler, all of Charlotte, North Carolina; aunts: Juanita Gaddy, Minnie (John) Medley, Marie Banster, and Linda Brewer; uncles: Henry J. Butler, Reverend Roger (Unis) Butler, Samuel (Katherine) Butler, and Otis Brewer; mother-in-law, Betty Little; sister-in-law, Gail Little and brother-in-law, Tony Little, all of Oakboro, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
