Our dearly beloved, Quentin Durrell Watkins, journey on this walk of life came to a close Thursday, September 13, 2018 while a patient at Carolinas Continue Care Hospital, Charlotte, North Carolina. Born November 11, 1973, he was the son of Walter W. (Alice) Watkins, Sr., Sharon S. (Rickey) Davis. This is a difficult time for our family as we mourn the loss of Quentin. We have a Merciful Lord who is our Maker; and we give thanks for his life and the time we shared. Quentin is no longer in pain and is resting in the arms of Our Lord and Savior.
He was educated in the Stanly County public schools and was a 1992 graduate of Albemarle Sr. High School, Albemarle, North Carolina. Prior to declining health, Quentin was a bus driver with the Stanly County School System, Albemarle. He attended Colston Street Church of God, Albemarle.
In his leisure, he enjoyed watching his favorite Dallas Cowboys football team, playing video games with his sons and spending time with his family. Quentin was never too busy to lend a hand if he could help someone.
Quentin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Carlie and Ruth K. Stokes and his paternal grandparents: Walter and Lessie M. Watkins.
His cherished and treasured memory will live in the hearts of: his children: Jaylen Watkins, Malik Watkins and Shanaisha Cloud, all of Albemarle; one grandchild; parents: Walter W.(Alice) Watkins, Sr., Ansonville, North Carolina, Sharon S.(Rickey) Davis, Albemarle; sister, Brandi Bennett, Albemarle; brothers: Shaka (Shanda) Bennett, Norfolk, Virginia and Walter W. Watkins, Jr., Ansonville; a very special niece, Karlie Johnson, Albemarle; nephews: Shakim Bennett and Kiaeem Bennett, both of Norfolk; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
